UNICHAT is an independent campus project for people who control an eligible @g.msuiit.edu.ph mailbox. It is not an official MSU-IIT service. Email verification does not establish age or current enrollment.

What your chat partner sees

Your chosen nickname and the text you send. Your school email, account identifier, and interests are not shared with your partner. Nicknames are pseudonyms, not verified names. Avoid sending identifying or sensitive details.

What we use to run the service

Your verified university email and internal account ID support sign-in, eligibility, matching, account restrictions, and abuse prevention. We store your nickname and optional interests privately for convenience. Supabase provides authentication, database, live notifications, and private evidence storage; Vercel hosts the application.

Messages and reports

Routine text messages are retained for delivery and reporting for a maximum of 24 hours when the required cleanup schedule is active. We do not offer saved conversations. A report preserves a server-generated snapshot of up to 30 messages from the previous 15 minutes, participant identifiers, nickname snapshots, reason, and your explanation. Reports can be filed during a chat or within 15 minutes after it ends.

Authorized staff with multi-factor authentication may review reported evidence. They cannot browse unreported conversations through the moderation interface. Evidence access and moderation decisions are audited. Optional screenshots are private supporting evidence; image metadata is removed and images are re-encoded before storage. We do not support media in chat.

Retention

Report transcripts and explanations expire 30 days after case closure. Report screenshots are removed by daily cleanup within 31 days of closure. Unresolved reports remain available until reviewed. Minimal case metadata, blocks, and sanction records support abuse prevention; audit logs expire after 90 days. Account deletion removes your account, private preferences, blocks, and sign-in access. Reported evidence may remain until its case retention period ends to protect the integrity of moderation.

Your device

Sign-in credentials are stored by Supabase in this browser until sign-out or expiry. The installable PWA caches public app assets and an offline page. It does not cache chat data, report evidence, or authenticated API responses for offline use.

UNICHAT uses encrypted transport. It does not claim end-to-end encryption, complete anonymity, or age verification. This notice describes the intended configured service and is not a claim of legal certification.
