A good chat starts with respect.

UNICHAT connects verified university-email holders in random, one-to-one text conversations. You choose a visible nickname. There are no public profiles, audio/video calls, or media messages.

Keep it friendly

You can always leave

Stop ends your chat and returns you to the dashboard. Next ends it and searches for a different person. Neither action needs your partner’s permission. Block prevents future matching with that account.

When something goes wrong

Use the small safety menu in chat to report or block. Reports include limited server-recorded messages; optional screenshots are supporting evidence. Moderators may warn, temporarily suspend, or ban an account after reviewing evidence. Report volume alone does not automatically determine a ban.

Eligibility and expectations

You must control an approved university mailbox and follow these rules. This verifies mailbox ownership, not age, legal identity, or current enrollment. UNICHAT is an independent project, not an official university service or an emergency response service.

Appeals and urgent concerns

For a restriction appeal or a safety concern, email josephalan.vergara@g.msuiit.edu.ph or charlesdaniel.estrada@g.msuiit.edu.ph. Include a report reference when available, and avoid forwarding unrelated private conversations. If you face immediate danger, leave and contact local emergency services.
